Q&Q SmileSolar is an amazing brand that combines their passions for innovation and global happiness to create products that are loved by many.

By using recycled materials, Q&Q SmileSolar develops well designed watches that are completely solar powered.  Say goodbye to changing your watch batteries.  So long as you have access to an hour of sunlight, you’ll have 3 months worth of power.

By changing light into energy, the watch needs no battery replacement, making it a green option for all.

My husband and I recently wore our Q&Q SmileSolar watches on a recent trip to Bermuda.  These water resistant watches were perfect for all of our aquatic adventures in paradise!

Q&Q SmileSolar is on a mission to create moments of happiness to the world.  One way they do this is by supporting people by making donations.  When anyone purchases a Q&Q SmileSolar watch, a portion of the proceeds is donated for TABLE FOR TWO to deliver school meals to children in Africa.

Being able to own a great timepiece at an even better price, while also being able to help people around the world, puts Q&Q SmileSolar on my favorites list!

CitySeat a Cyclist’s Treat

Summer is here and so far, it’s hot! Whether I’m riding my bike through Central Park, snagging a CitiBike downtown, or begrudgingly hitting up a SoulCycle class to get my booty into summer shape, there is only one thing I know – my seat is sweaty, sticky and in need of a bubble bath!

In Kindergarten we learn that sharing is caring.  And, today’s entrepreneurs have taken that lesson to brand new heights.  From shared rides and shared bikes to wear and return clothing and jewelry, we seem to live in an age where we share everything.

It makes me wonder, how sanitary can this possibly be?

Well, CitySeat has come up with the perfect solution, and I took one for a test ride on a recent getaway to Asheville, North Carolina.

CitySeats are portable, padded bicycle seat covers that allow any cyclist to ride comfortably and in style.  There are so many patterns to choose from, all offering a fun aesthetic that allows your bike to stand out from the pack.

This Edge Padded CitySeat is part of the brand new line.

Passport to Summer

It currently feels like 6 degrees in New York City.  Don’t believe me?  Check out  As I sit in my blisteringly hot apartment (In prewar NYC apartment buildings properly regulated temperature can be a hard find), I can’t help but imagine being whisked away to a sunny destination.  And with the arrival of Valentine’s Day, now would be the perfect time for an impromptu getaway, whether it be with your sweetheart or best galentines!

Three Destinations, Three Budgets

Maldives – $$$$

After a quick 18 hour flight go ahead and hop on a boat or seaplane to get to your resort of choice.  My top pick? The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.  Hey, if it’s good enough for Michael Phelps and Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s good enough for me… especially if that kind of eye candy is roaming the exotic sands!  Stay under the sea or in the middle of the ocean, the choice is yours!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – $$$

A 6 hour flight is not so bad when sun, sand and surf are waiting for you upon landing.  For a luxurious getaway with a less hefty price tag than the Maldives, Puerto Vallarta might just be the place.  The Hotel Mousai is one of Puerto Vallarta’s newest adults only, all-inclusive luxury resorts, and definitely on my personal travel wish list.  From the beach to the rooftop pool, this hotel is without a doubt the place to relax, hit the spa, practice yoga, and of course, have a constant stream of margaritas running through your veins, all while being surrounded by the most beautiful lush jungles Mexico has to offer.

Punta Cana, Dominica Republic – $

There is no tropical paradise easier to get to from the North East than the Caribbean.  And, when on a budget, Groupon can be your best friend.  While I have never purchased a Groupon Getaway myself, I have many friends and family members who have visited Europe, Asia and Africa through the amazing deals found on the cash saving app.  Currently, Groupon is running a deal for an unforgettable deluxe all-inclusive vacation to Punta Cana for just $669, that’s including flight, people! Your four night stay at the Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino makes for the perfect long weekend getaway.  Every meal and beverage is included and hey, you might even make it out ahead at the Casino.  Bet on 23 for me!

The Chic Mahout

After a wonderful and lengthy honeymoon in Thailand, The Eden Edition is ready to face reality and get back to the grindstone.  One of the greatest experiences we had while in the land of smiles was our interaction with the Thai national animal: the elephant.

While staying at the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, my husband and I partook in a mahout training session.  In the lush jungles of Northern Thailand, we learned how to drive and control our own elephant.  Sitting upon her neck, and using basic commands, Bounsri and I  hiked through the wild, reluctantly passing water buffalo that frightened her.  We strolled leisurely, stopped for some greenery and a drink, and bathed in the river.

As I am hoping this once in a lifetime experience is NOT once in a lifetime, I have compiled the perfect accessories to make any elephant excursion sartorially splendid!

chic mahout 1.jpg

1. Keep that pesky hair out of your face with this light and stylish Missoni Crochet Headband.  2. A simple t-shirt is all you need on your elephant adventure.  This tee from Rag & Bone is a great option.  3. Be one with your gentle giant with Garland Collection‘s Elephant earrings (I say go for the rose gold)! 4. Simple footwear is essential for a mahout.  I love these Havaianas flip flops with a small elephant pendant on the thong.  5.  Protect your eyes from the sun with these fab pair of Miu Miu‘s.  6. I’m always a fan of a leather bracelet, and this one by Chan Luu is a great accessory for your mahout outfit.  7.  To be a mahout, you must dress the part, these harem pants by Jean Paul Gaultier will make you the best dressed mahout in South East Asia! 8. Cherish your memories forever with a GoPro and relive all the fun once you get home!

Flying in Style

Exactly one month ago I married my best friend, and in less than one month from today, my new husband and I will be jetting off to Thailand for our honeymoon!  Traveling is one of my truest passions, but getting from point A to point B is not always a timely or comfortable process.  In preparation for my own vacation, I have put together a list of travel essentials and luxuries.

Flight Essentials

1. I love this large printed pouch from J-Crew.  It is perfect for storing all of your overnight flight necessities like moisturizer, chapstick, your travel toothbrush and floss.  This stylish sack can be easily stored in your carry-on bag!

2.  Altitude will dehydrate your body.  It is important to drink fluids, apply lip balm, and use moisturizer to avoid dryness.  Kiehl’s Creme de Corps is a rich, non-greasy, rehydrating moisturizer.  Be sure to pick up this lotion for a smooth flight.

3. Eye masks are essential for quality airplane sleeping.  This Aroma Home eye mask is extra luxurious as it is filled with lavender seeds to help soothe and relax your body and state of mind.  Sweet lavender dreams!

4. These Beats by Dre noise canceling headphones are not only versatile (they come in every color of the rainbow), but also offer superior audio for your inflight movie, music or gaming.

5. The temperature on an airplane always seems to fluctuate.  That’s why I like to layer!  It is always best to wear a cardigan sweater or zip up hoodie as they are easy to get on and off.  This Zoe Karssen Leopard Cashmere Cardigan is perfect for keeping warm on those chillier flights.

6. There’s no better time to catch up on your reading than when you’re trying to pass the time in a claustrophobic, confined space.  While a plane might bring you to different country, a book can immediately transport you to another world.  With the Kindle Paperwhite in tow, you won’t be restricted by one or two books.  Instead, you will have an entire library at the tip of your fingers!

7. Socks!  As discussed earlier, we never quite know what the temperature will be 36,000 feet in the air.  No one likes cold toes or even worse, swollen legs.  For extra long flights, it’s a good idea to bring a pair of knee-high compression socks.  Keep that blood flowing so the party can start immediately upon arrival!

8. Passport covers are a fun and (sometimes) cheap accessory for traveling.  If you’re a newlywed, like me, grab a set of the Mr. & Mrs. passport covers.  Yeah, it might be cheesy, but you’re on your honeymoon!  Bring on the cheese!

9. Last but certainly not least, investing in a quality neck pillow is essential.  TravelPillow by Tempur-Pedic cradles your neck and supports your head to relieve pressure, allowing your neck and shoulder muscles to relax. So you can sleep and arrive refreshed.

What are your travel essentials?  Leave your tips for The Eden Edition in the comments section below. Happy Travels!

Summer Getaways: NYC

During the brutally hot days of summer in NYC, most New Yorkers eagerly flee the island of which they reside and escape to trendy Fire Island, the ritzy Hamptons or Snooki’s Jersey Shore.  Visiting these popular places might get the New Yorker out of the city, but it does not get the New Yorker away from other city-folk.  For a true weekend getaway, try one of the quaint, romantic and even exciting destinations within driving distance of New York City!

Stowe, Vermont
21379620_650For luxury in the mountains escape to Topnotch Resort & Spa in picturesque Stowe, Vermont.  At this award-winning tennis resort, feel free to practice your back swing, take in a round of golf, or go horseback riding, biking and golfing.  If you’re looking for pure relaxation, look no further than the resort’s topnotch spa.  This pet-friendly hotel offers turn down service for your dogs after their long hikes with you on famous Mt. Mansfield.  If you want to venture outside of the resort, Stowe offers a plethora of activities.  Stowe Village is home to many locally owned shops, delectable restaurants, and is majorly influenced by the art and music scene.

Mirbeau Inn & Spa
cn_image_2.size.mirbeau-inn-spa-skaneateles-skaneatles-new-york-104513-3Leave the dogs, kids, and all your worries behind when you visit this romantic inn this summer in the storybook village of Skaneateles, New York.  The Mirbeau Inn & Spa is reminiscent of an Old World French Country Estate with its exterior architecture, interior décor and landscape design.  Let your mind relax as you sink into the most delectable spa treatments imaginable.  From honey and wine body wraps to divine indulgence massages for two, the 14,000 square foot facility offers an experience of pure relaxation.  Only a 4 hour drive from NYC, don’t miss out on this unique escape.

Mystic, CT
Mystic_ CTMystic, Connecticut offers fun for both families and childless adults.  This quaint New England town sits perfectly between New York and Boston but you won’t find a hint of city life here.  If traveling with children, don’t miss the Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport and the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat.  The little ones are sure to have such a good time that the exhaustion from the day will allow Mom and Dad a quiet (and well-deserved) evening.  For an Adults Only trip to Mystic, the opportunities are endless.  Art museums, wineries, spas, shopping and nightlife make for a well-rounded and exciting weekend.  With casinos like Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods right around the corner you won’t go home disappointed… well, hopefully!  Finally, while in town, be sure to visit Mystic Pizza, made famous by the same named 1988 film starring, Julia Roberts. Have a great time in Mystic, I always do!

New Hope, PA
IMG_0622New Hope, PA is a very special place.  The notable town is adorned with covered bridges and historical landmarks.  New Hope’s streets are lined with antique shops, boutiques, wineries and restaurants that offer lovely views of the Delaware River.  If you’re looking for some outdoor adventure, take a trolley or train tour of the scenic area, or go tubing, rafting, kayaking or canoeing on the Delaware River just north of where George Washington historically crossed. In terms of lodging, I can recommend the Barley Sheaf Farm Estate & Spa.  The manor house, built in 1740 is situated on 100-acre pasture.  They offer private cottages, spa treatments, wine tastings and more.  If you’re looking for a complete retreat from the city, this is it.  Finally, I would be doing you a disservice if I did not mention the restaurant, Carversville Inn.  Having visited many cities in France, the Carversville Inn beats them all with the best escargot I’ve had in my life.  If you visit the New Hope area, you do not want to miss this dining experience.

No matter what you do this summer, have a great time!  Explore areas you never have before.  If you step out of your comfort zone, you might just find yourself more comfortable than you were in the first place!
