Some people are method actors. It appears Bryan Cranston is a meth-amphetamine actor!
To prepare for his role on “Breaking Bad” as a chemistry teacher turned meth cooker, Bryan Cranston was professionally trained in preparing and cooking high quality meth. Who were his teachers you might ask? DEA Chemists!
“We were taught how to make meth (by) DEA chemists who were our consultants on the show. We didn’t cook it, but we were told exactly the process at that high level.”
When pressed further on whether or not he actually cooked, he said:
“Maybe. I can’t tell you one way or the other. It’s extremely difficult. There are so many volatile components to it that at any given time, you could literally blow up.”
Well, it’s always good to learn a new skill! Breaking Bad has been breaking all kinds of records so maybe knowing the process really did help Bryan Cranston bring Walter White to life… Let’s just hope Cranston and everyone else on set didn’t pay too much attention. It’s not like television is a world of drugs or anything….
Very wholesome industry. Very wholesome in deed!
