Hotel For Dogs: Life’s a Bitch… or not

Ok.  We all love our pets, but some express it more than others.  In my case, I call my almost 6-year-old dog, Dilbert, my soul mate, despite my boyfriend of almost 8 years being present.  Do I think he’s spoiled?  Yes.  He goes to Doggie Daycare (but to be fair, his abusive past has caused severe separation anxiety),  he is welcome to any seat, cushion, or bed, in our home, and always gets a little bit of our dinner.

I don’t think there is anyone who loves their dog more than I love mine, yet there are some who spoil their dogs beyond belief.  Let me introduce to you the D Pet Hotels, with locations in New York City, Los Angeles and Scottsdale, Arizona.

The hotel for dogs offers unlimited amenities including paw-dicures, spa services, daycare, overnight boarding, and grooming services.

D Pet  is a 5-star hotel.  And what’s a 5-star hotel without lavish rooms and suites?   Ranging between $79-$200 per night, your dog can feel right at home in its own space equipped with a bed, television and in some rooms even a chaise lounge and resting area.

Forget about the dogs for a second.  Us humans have busy lives.  How will we get our dogs to the hotel when we’re stuck at work until our redeye to Paris?  Not to worry, the hotel offers chauffeur services including “an array of vehicle choices from our standard D Pet Hotels pick-up to more luxurious options like a beautiful … drive in a Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley, Porsche or Rolls Royce.”

Um, do they have a hotel for humans?  This sounds better than the Ritz!  And as for you, Dilbert, because I’m sure you’re reading my blog, you will not be staying at this hotel.  You might be spoiled but we need to keep your feet on the ground somehow!
